Welcome to Mrs. Carter's Weebly for ECCE 1105: Nutrition Project
Mrs. Judy D. Carter welcomes you to the Weebly for ECCE 1105, Health, Safety, and Nutrition.
This site houses the NUTRITION PROJECT for the course.
The requirements for the Nutrition project are to:
1. Become familiar with the Choose My Plate website and other websites that have nutritional information that can be used by teachers, parents, and children.
For part one of the assignment, go to the NUTRITION RESOURCES tab above.
2. Develop a kid-friendly Recipe Collection, using pictures and symbols that can be followed by readers and non-readers. Look at the samples at the PRESCHOOL RECIPES tab above, then select the RECIPE CARD REQUIREMENTS tab for specific instructions.
A Nutrition Newsletter is available at the tab of the same name. This is NOT required for the nutrition project.
3. Menu Planning- Each student will complete a menu for one week in a childcare setting. The menu will follow the nutrition guidelines in regulated childcare settings.
The menu will be planned for 2 meals as well as 2 snacks per day. Students should refer to the textbook as a guide.using the Bright from the Start form and guidelines.
